Taking the Classes the Right Way

People have their own way of attending a special event. Some just go for fun, while others are for a deeper purpose. There are also some who just attend a class just because they are required to, or just because they have nothing else to do. Well, this should not be the case in rubber stamping. In the rubber stamping classes, all of the students are required to create their own stamping designs so there’s really a need for each student to pay attention to what is taught, especially the techniques. Other than that, in rubber stamping classes, a sort of competition between who makes the best design, and who creates the poorest product occurs. So if, for instance, you topped the rank of the poorest stampers, isn’t it challenging to do great things the next time? It is, especially for the serious stampers.

If you are the type who takes everything seriously, then the rule of getting to class a bit early is something that is not new to you. You probably belong to the list of early comers. Well, coming a bit early in class is a good practice for that will show your interest to learn the craft. Another good thing about this practice is that when you come early in time, you’ll get the chance to take the best seat in class. The best seat of course means the best view of the demonstrations. This is important not only during the start of class, but throughout the session.

When attending a rubber stamping class, condition yourself first before going through the study room. Eat lots of proteins, and make sure that you’ve got some rest. You can also bring something to comfort you in class, like a bottle of water or a pillow for that matter. Although this sounds a bit silly, these moves can truly help you learn the lessons fast.

Although you have the necessary materials and tools for rubber stamping, it is not a bad idea to bring something you don’t think you’ll need. Take one or more scissors if you want. This can keep you away from sharing, which is really but a culprit in rubber stamping. Also, if you have the basic knowledge of creating stamps, then take some sample stamps with you. You may need these for your own designs. And, to keep yourself not stuck into waiting for something, bring other things with you to play at.

Bring some notes with you, as well as a pen and a paper. Whatever your teacher is saying, write down the important details. Don’t hesitate to ask your teacher to repeat something so you can note it down. You may find this a waste of time especially if your teacher already gave you a handout to read on. Although it may seem that way, your pen and paper can help you put down anything that is not included in writing. Remember that!

If in case you are the type who finds it awkward to ask questions during a class, then find some way to get over it. There’s nothing wrong with asking. But for you not to get trouble, just make sure you’re asking the right question. Learn to determine what’s right and what’s wrong, or what’s offensive and what’s not. If you are aware of everything, then there’s nothing to worry about asking. After all, how would your teacher know about what you wanted to ask if you don’t say it? So just say it, and you’ll get the answer.

That is also true for asking your teacher to repeat something you didn’t hear. But, if you feel like your teacher is just a “dud” or someone who teach something they don’t know, then don’t be afraid to raise certain corrections. If you and your teacher are not in good terms, it would be best if you’ll just treat the class as if you’re just watching a movie you don’t like. That way, you’ll know, there’s nothing wrong with you or with your teacher either. And, if you have certain questions in mind which you think is out of the topic, just note it down and ask it after the class.

It would also be great if you’ll pay much attention and interest to the lesson taught every day. In this way, there’s a guarantee that you’ll learn everything about rubber stamping. And, if in case your teacher asks you to do your own rubber stamps, then think for something truly creative and maintained your style. Remember not to get out of the rules, however. There’s nothing wrong with doing what you really want provided that you know your limits. Just be creative and do what you think you can.

Finally, enjoy the class. This is not a requirement though, but this can help you learn things fast. If you think you’ve gathered all the necessary ideas, then be happy. Just use the ideas in your own crafts and whatever you’ve made, be happy with it. This is important regardless of how bad or how good your craft is. At least you know that you’ve tried your best. Note that not all people may make perfect pieces on the first try. That’s close to impossible, unless you’re already adept to rubber stamping. So if you find yourself not good at the start, then do something to improve your skills.

Rubber stamping is really a fun thing to consider in life and attending a class is indeed a great experience to treasure for a lifetime. It gives you the chance to learn everything about the craft, including the necessary materials and tools, and the best stamping techniques available. Aside from that, attending a rubber stamping class allows you to determine your own limits when it comes to creativity. It tells you how creative or artistic you are, and it even prepares your future in the field of arts. Yes, the professional rubber stampers of today were rubber stamping students once upon a time. They reached their positions in the society these days because of education and learning. So if you are not afraid to know about your future, the rubber stamping classes can help you know it.

The rubber stamping classes also serve as the bridge for meeting people from different walks of life. Yes, if you’ll attend the classes designed for the art of rubber stamping, you’ll surely meet new people with the same interest as yours. So take the time befriending them. Who knows, your best friend or your soul mate is just sitting out there, near you during the classes.
