The Rubber Stamping Class Requirements
Ink Pads – This material may come in different varieties. You can take a dye-ink, a fabric ink, or a pigment ink for your crafts. For the dye-ink pads, the school may ask you to get pads with black, red, green, blue, and rainbow colors. The black is typically the most required, while the rest is just considered optional. Well, the best thing to know about the dye-ink pads is that they dry so fast. They don’t bleed even after washing the stamps with water. For the pigment ink pads, black and gold are two of the most needed, but you can also go for a ColorBox pallete if you want more shades. And, if you prefer the waterproof options, just try to go for black. That’s the most standard. Coloring Mediums – The art of rubber stamping requires coloring, so if you are attending a rubber stamping class, prepare a coloring medium to back you up. The most commonly used coloring tools for rubber stamping include colored pencils, colored chalks, watercolors, artists’ pastels, metallic pens, and water based markers. All of these can be used for embellishing purposes. Cutting Tools – Cutting and shaping are two of the most common techniques involved in rubber stamping. If you want to create good crafts, start preparing the most valuable cutting equipments. Bring a craft knife, a bone folder, decorative scissors, a self-healing cutting mat, and a paper cutter or metal ruler. You can also consider craft punches to create several shapes. These materials can be employed to add effects to your art works. Paper – As with the other materials needed in the craft, the rubber stamping paper comes in different forms or varieties. Most rubber stampers use a package of cards and envelopes for their stamping projects. There are also others who prefer some packages of cardstock for their glossy and shiny textures. Aside from that, many of the rubber stampers consider the decorative types, such as those used in scrapbooking. The handmade art papers and index cards can also work as alternatives. Of these available paper varieties, the index cards are so far the cheapest option to play on. Adhesives – Rubber stamping classes also require you to bring some forms of adhesives. These materials may take in the form of glues, double-sided tapes or wonder tape, and double-sided foam mounting tape for additional dimension. You can use any of these adhesives to keep certain kinds of embellishments, like the embossing powders or glitters, permanently in place. Embossing Supplies – Of the techniques known to rubber stamping, the art of embossing is deemed as the most important. If you are running after this method, then it’s always good to have all the necessary embossing supplies at hand. You may need an embossing powder, black, gold, clear, and embossing inkpads, a multicolor pigment ink pad, and a heat tool. These materials can be great for adding flair to your art works. Mediums for Storage – To complete the set of the most required essentials for rubber stamping, don’t forget the storage mediums. This is where you keep your stamps, so prepare them. You can take up an acrylic box, plastic pencil boxes, storage cart, or a clean small basket. If you’ll consider plastics, make sure that they are stackable. All of those essentials can be found and purchased in almost every craft stores these days. You can even find them at some outlets that sell school supplies. So finding them can truly be easy and fun. Just pick up the ones that you think is highly useful and which suit your budget and style. |
